01012011_Another Day, Another Year

It's the 11th year into the Millennium. It's the first 23rd hours into 2011.

I have been doing some reflections, mental reflection (is there such thing?) since the last few weeks; actually since Muharram, of what I have done and what I have yet to even begun.

Anyhow, I am grateful for my 2010 moments and my-yet-to-be-moments. I am thankful to the Almighty for the up-moments as well as the down-moments:

  • February: a 15-day trip to Syria. A place that was never in our list of places-to-go-before-we-die, but somehow, someway became a travel-log that we talked about till today http://www.flickr.com/photos/syeefa/sets/72157624844848592/

  • April: the exercise-frenzy started. As far as I can recall I have never put my body to such disciplined and routines. (and yet the total cholesterol is still marked as borderline. Dang!)

  • May: despite being an extrovert, being labelled a Sanguine, am no extrovert-nor-sanguine when it comes to celebrating my own birthday. Receiving half-dozen roses from total strangers in McDonald was a memorable experience after all. Ohh, almost forgot the gentle reemphasized-statement from Mot-Mot colleagues that I have split personality (translation I am a Sanguine who is not expressive)

  • June: at the work front, another change in the organization structure took place. Being 2 years in Mot-Mot, I embraced the fact that here, nothing remains but CHANGE (definitely have gone beyond taking note or acknowledging that fact) .

  • July: I could finally put a tick-I-have-done-it to a 10-year old goal to conquer the highest mountain in South East Asia. Phew, yes, finally. Taking one step at a time to reach Low's Peak before the sun rises was both figuratively and literally speaking applicable (I almost given up trying to reach the so-called low's peak; imagine trekking to the highest peak! )

  • Aug-Sept: I made a promise to myself to raise mystandards when Ramadan came. I guess the more conscious we are in trying to achieve something the more difficult and the harder it is to be accomplished. Not sure why that happen. Hmm.. He has a very good sense of humor, doesn't He?

  • Nov: All I can say, when it comes to heart ... the heart has its reason which reasons know not of (let alone other people)

  • Dec: Mak's complaint of pains in her right leg has landed her (and us all) in a 26-hospital-days. After more than MYR8K and countless nights on these uncomfortable settees, Mak has yet to sleep in her own comfortable bed at kampung. Yet, thankful cos Mak has been getting better each day
